Mike O'Connell began his telecom career in 1998 and spent years learning about the nuances of the field. He started off as a wire puller and developed into an experienced installation. By 2010, he had not only climbed the corporate ladder but also bought a business, establishing its reputation as a reliable name in North Iowa's telecom industry.
Mike's career was unexpectedly altered in 2015, and he grudgingly sold the business to take up a new position as the IT Director of an Iowa courthouse. Here, he created the guidelines and procedures that would allow future technology to be smoothly incorporated into the courthouse's operations, laying the groundwork for the IT department.
Mike's career path led him to Kansas City in 2016, where he was a successful project manager overseeing the integration of technology for large distribution facilities such as True Value, Wal-Mart, Amazon, and Kroger. In 2020, he took a fortunate turn that brought him to his long-dreamed position as a Technology Designer at a prominent Design Engineering and Consulting organization.
Mike has used his broad skill set and resources as a technology designer to influence building projects with the goal of improving the built environment.
